I Am... is the mostly true story of young four-legged Elliot’s struggle to fulfill a dream in the face of sometimes extreme adversity.  He tells us in an entertaining and enlightening way of his refusal to let go of his hopedream despite facing sometimes extraordinary challenges.  The early death of his mother, unstable life circumstances, war, and refugeeism as well as great but distracting adventures and characters helped him to understand things about love, family, friendship, hardship, danger and himself that he never imagined needed to be understood when his life-journey began.  The unfolding of his story may help young two-legged readers understand that they are not alone in some of the challenges they face from without and within in today's world.
